Carl
Hilke, News Director
Carl is a native of Wisconsin Rapids, having graduated from Lincoln
High School in 1974. He first got involved with radio while attending
UW-Oshkosh, where he majored in Journalism, with a minor in Political
Science. Has been in the WFHR newsroom for 17 years, starting
his career as city beat reporter. Carl is the past president of
the Central Wisconsin Press Club and the Associated Press Broadcast
Advisory Board of Directors and has been the recipient of eight
Associated Press and two Wisconsin Association of Broadcasters
awards for this reporting. Carl's wife, Pamela, is also a longtime
member of the WFHR staff, serving as the station's Traffic Coordinator.
When on his own, Carl has a passion for golf, cross country skiing,
photography, and music. |
