Ty Bodden Announces Candidacy and Endorsements for the 3rd Assembly District

STOCKBRIDGE – Rep. Ty Bodden won his first assembly election in November of 2022 and has represented the old 59th Assembly District since January of 2023. However, the new legislative maps have brought significant changes, and many Wisconsinites will have new representation in 2025.

Representative Ty Bodden, a Stockbridge resident and Calumet County resident for nearly the last two decades, has led the charge at the state level to ensure sturgeon spearing is here for years to come. He authored the letter to the Department of Interior Secretary requesting that Wisconsin, particularly the Lake Winnebago region, be exempt from an ESA endangered ruling. He was the lead author on AJR106, which passed the Assembly and Senate, instructing the Wisconsin DNR to work with the federal government to ensure lake sturgeon are not listed as endangered in Wisconsin. No matter the decision on the sturgeon, Ty will continue to fight on behalf of the spearers in the state. Additionally, Ty has helped lead the effort to try to restore local control when it comes to large-scale wind and solar projects. Ty introduced two bills,

AB165 and AB1169, to rein in these green energy companies and restore local control when it comes to these projects. He has been instrumental in aiding efforts to keep them out of our area.

Ty Bodden has prioritized election integrity during his tenure in office, alongside advocating for law enforcement, pushing for higher wages for correctional officers, combating human trafficking, ensuring utility rates remain as low as possible, implementing tax cuts for all, exempting retirement income from taxes, and staunchly defending our constitutional rights.

Ty has introduced key legislation to protect our first, second, and fourth amendments. This past session, Ty sat on the Assembly Human Trafficking Task Force and worked towards policies to address human trafficking.

Bodden has used the following statement: “I am deeply humbled by the overwhelming support I have received, even prior to my decision to run. Throughout my first term, every decision I made was driven by my commitment to upholding my oath of of ice and adhering to the constitutional principles of both Wisconsin and the United States. If you have followed my social media or received my e-updates, you will see I have made it a priority to be visible in my district, patronize as many businesses as possible, attend civic meetings, and be available to the people I serve. The people are genuinely concerned about the direction of this country and they feel no one is doing anything about it. Government is growing daily and politicians only seem to make it worse. This state and country are spiraling out of control and we need to do better for

our children. We need leaders to stand up and fight to cut spending and shrink the size of government. We are overtaxed and burdened by excessive bureaucracy and it’s time for decisive action for a brighter future for Wisconsin.”
